At Thirty-Five, I Wanted to Meet My Body Again
After a nine-year relationship ended, she went looking for her own sensitivity.
Her first message was typed and deleted, typed and deleted. In the end she sent one line: I don't know if it's all right to ask this. She and her partner had been together nine years; since the split she felt switched to mute — food without flavour, embraces without feeling. She was afraid something in her had broken.
For her first visit she chose the most everyday full-body relaxation, just to see the place. The warm light, the tea scent, the volume of the therapist's voice — layer by layer her guard came down. On the second visit she booked the full yoni ritual.
What she remembers is the temperature. Warm gel settling on her skin, palms moving at the speed of a tide, inch by inch, until she discovered her body could still answer — and she cried quietly under the blanket. Not from sadness. From the confirmation: I'm still alive in here.
The therapist never asked her a single extra question. When her feelings rose, a palm simply rested with steady weight at the small of her back. She said later it was the discretion that undid her: no prying, no judging — just company, while she found her way back to her own senses.
At the door she stood a moment and smiled: thirty-five, starting again. Maybe not so late after all.

All you have to say is: “I need to be looked after.”
We will take care of the rest.
